Isn't this part of the balance of the game? Less slots mean you cannot choose all your options, you have to prepare for a more specific task, and thus have an increased difficulty. I agree that it's probably possible to add​ more slots, but I don't know how this would change the balance of the game.

I don't know the exact stats of the so called mk3 equipment, but this tire armour feels a bit easy to make as you can currently buy tires. If they were only a random find, and the crafting recipe is in one of the higher crafting tiers (2-3) when these are added, then it might be better balanced. You...

Interesting yes, but it has to be simple enough that the coding wont cause issues. So that may be too advanced for them to worry about at the moment. Its a good proposal though as blitz said. Unfortunately it seems these crafting skills are not implemented yet. You can still use the boost in healing though.
