For what it's worth, I totally disagree... I despise when games make all the best stuff purchase only. I feel it ruins the integrity of not only the individual game, but the act of gaming itself. Purchasing things should allow you to accomplish your goals more quickly, not allow you to achieve different goals than simply playing the game.

I really think that the developers should try to offer better things when you pay instead of just thinking about money.
I believe that Leone made a very good point...

What I mean is that (for example in FT)can pay to get the character to level 100 and that defeats the object of gamplay. Thats not acomplishing the goals faster it's simply skiping them. Its an irony that you tell me that this doesnt ruin the integrity of the game, and its really injust for the players. Buying a pet and being able yo keep it doesnt ruin the integrity of the game more than buying level 100 does.

I agree, and so you know, nobody fought harder against buying levels than I did ;)

EDIT - out of curiosity, what would be your idea on how to include an invincible pet? It seems OP to me, but maybe you've got other ideas on how to make it work?

Don't make it invincible but instead revivals. Perhaps the only way to get the pet back only upon returning to camp/town.
It would definitely take away the OP advantage of the pet.

maybe on the right road there... but imo, just returning to town is much too easy and fast, and would still be too large an advantage - keep going though, see if you can get more discussion on it maybe ;) (my opinion on this is just that, my opinion... not an authoritative decision lol)

Revive potion that need to be crafted seems like good idea, just make sure that ingredients won't be easy to find.

Eh. It's been this way for a long time in Forgotten tales and a great many players have purchased pets. Most will buy. Few will not.
