What does the skill map icon mean?

I noticed a few sections of the map have a skull icon when you pull up the map. The new map section has one that popped up today I noticed. Is there any significance to that? Maybe it means zombies?

it means that its dangerous zone to be in (because of enemies and radiation) that are higher tier difficulty compared to the rest of the zones
