Quest solving

I want to ask for a help (for a hint) those, who solved this quest:
"Jared McJoel asked you for help in finding his kidnapped brother. Search the dead bandit's corpses for hints."
Well, killed a lot of mobs, didn't get any item or hint for solving this case. Am i missing something?
PS: solving quests is sooo not worth of time spent solving them.
