Hi Alex!
I did post the same idea, in game releasing days, along with my wish for a green-skin character. Designers say female characters are already planned and will arrive :D

Bb, all characters are male, so you can't base your % on characters gender.
I'm very curious: how do you know 90% are males? Did you ask everyone, or just a selected set and used it as a projection base?

Consider also that female players happen to play as males (even in games with female characters). This is often due to these main reasons: avoiding being tormented by flirting players, avoiding wearing offensive skins.
Too often female skins in games are very stereotyped and hard to relate with for us.
Reasearch shows that many female players use male characters instead of female ones due to these being felt as humiliating for graphics reasons.
