Starting off with more food and possibly with a useful tool
When you first spawn into the game you spawn with a small amount of food, to be honest you spawn with some more for better survival chances. Plus we should spawn with sort of useful tool or a weapon to defend our self (It doesn't had to be a strong weapon). And having encounters with roaches at the beginning of the game is not very cool either. This is my suggestion for the beginning of the game, thank you

A new quest is now in town, explaining crafting. It also gives a bit of items as you complete it. Enjoy!

Dieing by a swarm of crawlers at the very start of the game really sucks, would be nice to start inside a small cave at top right of starting location, this will allow slow readers to read the on screen dialog without being attacked by OP crawlers, yes OP because starting the game with absolutely not to defend oneself with is RIDICULOUS!!
My suggestion, start in small cave in a small rounded area, perhaps place a couple mushrooms around, a mostly burned out fire, and near the fire is where player should spawn, also near the fire place a deceased npc that when searched dialog pops up stating, "Fred didn't make it, he won't be needing the stick he is holding in is lifeless hand." Stick pops up on screen after hitting the accept button on displayed on screen. Player then travels a short distance down a passage leading outside.
Upon exiting message pops up on screen stating, "Welcome to Omega Vanitas" player hits accept once again and begins the game.
