Omega Vanitas is a social game and the Omega Vanitas Forum is a social gaming site. You do not need to use the social features (like in-game chat or personal messages (PMs) on forum) to enjoy the game, but we think, this is a big part of what makes the game more fun.
The community is widely international; there are players from all around the world, playing this game. This has many advantages and is exciting - On the other hand, there is occasionally a cultural or language barrier.
Therefore, to avoid frustration and anger, we expect everyone reading and respecting game rules, which are soon being translated in several languages. The other player wants to have fun with Omega Vanitas as you do! These rules are here to ensure an enjoyable game-play for the entire community.
In order to help everyone in knowing game rules, they are translated by native speaker players, and posted in related subforums.
If your language does not have a dedicated subforum, you might find in this post's comments a translation made with an online translator.
All players are also invited reading Game Manual.
Note :: Cleaning up by system. The system removes unused characters below level 4 after some time of inactivity: Characters at level 0 and 1 (2 and 3) are removed after 30 (90) days of inactivity.
Note :: Since a purchase is no "property", but a fee for the "electronic enhancement" of OV accounts, it is bound to that account, once activated:
as soon as a (level, bag, pet and any other) item is activated on a certain account, it is part of that account.
That means that purchases activated on accounts permanently jailed as rules violators are lost.
The rules are enforced by our staff team. Always listen to the GameMasters (bluenamed, faction GM), they are in charge!
It is required that when a GM addresses you, you respond, even if only to say, "I do not understand". We do understand language barriers, and will make an attempt to overcome them. However, even if you do not understand their warnings, you may still be punished for rule violations. It is players responsibility, to know the rules and follow them.
It is forbidden to exploit any bug, glitch, or game mechanic from which xp, chips, gear, or any other form of value is too easily gained. Punishment will generally include the loss of everything gained from abusing the exploit, plus whatever additional punishment is deemed fair by the GM team on a case-by-case basis.
Keeping order in the game.
Occasionally there are cases in the game that are not covered by the current rules of the game, but they create problems in the game and must be stopped. The administration reserves the right to decide which cases are suitable for this rule and what punishment should be applied depending on each case
Use a safe and memorable Password!
At a certain level, you do not want your character to get hijacked by other players. And believe us; there are players who try this. They try "123456" or the character name as password for example. The staff will not help you with this issue, if the logs show, that your password was not safe. A password is considered safe, when it is at least 8 characters long and includes both numbers and letters.
Protect your password! It is your responsibility!
A safe password is not helpful, if you use it everywhere or if you give it to any third party. Keep it secret, it is your password. If you decide to give your accounts away, or share them, there may be consequences.
If you shared your password and your character was stolen this way, we will not return your character back. In the end, we cannot decide, who was the first owner. It gets even more complicated with trades (see rule 6). We can jail the lost character, if you know the last password and report your loss within a short period of time. In this case, contact a gamemaster!
Each account is treated separately!
No matter, which player is behind a character, the character gets punished. This means, if you lose control over your character by sharing (see rules 1, 2), your character account will have to face the consequences, as an example: no items nor gold taken away from it by players knowing your password will be returned by game staff members.
If a player is constantly breaking rules, all of their characters may be punished!
This rule can overrule rule 3, but in most cases there will be warnings before rule 4 applies! The characters will be determined by the IP (the code determining your internet access point).
Note 1 :: If you use a proxy to cover your real IP and break rules, you can be banned permanently from both the game and the forum. This applies to all your accounts.
Note 2 :: We know, that the IP is not a 100% identifier for a person in networks, but it is the best way we have. If there is a mixing up in a individual case, we will handle it for sure.
Note 3 :: In some extreme cases, rule 4 may apply without warning.
If you buy purchasables for real money and there is a bug, report within 7 days!
It should not occur, but you could level up the wrong character, for example. Be quick with the report!
Note 1 :: When you buy something, the google server can be delayed for up to 24 hours. Please wait this time span before contacting the staff for non-received purchases. It is a very rare issue, but it can happen. Sadly, it’s a Google-side issue and we cannot fix it at all.
Note 2 :: When reporting this issue, it is recommended you contact an admin (green name) via forum PM (see rule 11). Please include your account name and receipt number (GPA code) from your Google Wallet or its receipt in your gmail.
Real money purchases are prohibited.
It is very likely that you may be approached by another player offering to buy something for real money. The administration is not responsible for any problems associated with such trading transactions, and they are prohibited in the game. The seller will be penalized for this and the transaction will be canceled
The seller of something for real money is punished according to this system:
- First offense -> Imprisonment for 30 days
- Second offense -> The guilty character is permanently imprisoned
- Third offense -> All player characters are permanently imprisoned
Buying, selling, or trading accounts is not permitted.
If you buy or sell a whole character, we are not liable for any problems, arising from your trade! The character is bought/sold on a black market, so this is all at your risk!!!
Any trading accounts proposal in public chat can get you punished, and posting such proposals on the forum is not allowed.
Accounts found to be traded after 2018 March the 5th are being punished under this system:
- First violation --> (one month jailing) & (50% level reduction)
- Second violation --> the guilty character is permanently jailed
- Third violation --> all characters of the player are permanently jailed
It is forbidden to use third-party programs!
It is strictly forbidden to use any third-party software such as auto-clickers and so on to gain an advantage or any macro is not tolerated
If you abuse such a game, you will be punished:
- First violation --> imprisonment for 30 days and a loss of 50% of the character's level
- Second violation --> the guilty character is forever imprisoned
- Third violation --> all player characters are permanently imprisoned
Note 2: If the game client is hacked and upgraded in order to gain any advantage, all player accounts will be punished forever and he will be denied access to the game.
It is forbidden to abuse a glitch or a bug
If you find game bugs and abuse them, you abuse all players, who have to work hard to build their characters! The punishments can be severe, especially, if you repeat your behavior!
On the other hand, we are very happy about players who care not only for their own advantage, but for the game itself. If you find a glitch or a bug, you can report it to a gamemaster via PM or public on forum. We reward reports, because you've helped to improve the game!
Reducing game-playing experience of others!
It is prohibited to interfere with other players as follows:
- Spamming of clan invitations or friend request
- Selling things when you are not asked for it (especially for large sums);
- Blocking bridges / passages;
- luring mobs on other players;
- Other actions that create problems for the player (In particular, the targeted killing of other people's mobs in order to stop the farm, and so on);
- Using multiple accounts to kill players with the intent of ignoring outlaw status (during the day);
Blocking the spawn place of mobs, setting mobs on other players (still you can't kill pets) and some other actions that can create discomfort for the player can be allowed during clan wars and for a short period of time. A clan war can be considered any confrontation between players who are currently in the clan.
Violators of this rule will receive minor penalties. These penalties may include a multiple day jail sentence, forfeiture of items, money, and experience. Repeat offenders, or more serious violations may be punished more severely.
If you come across players who interfere with others, be sure to inform the administration. We will take care of them!
False reports of violations of this rule can also be penalized.
Keep in mind that by joining a faction, you must understand that you accept the risk of forced PvP. In these cases, you always have the option to leave your faction. Also, during the interaction of clan players, the points of this rule concerning the extortion of any valuables to conclude peace and some types of threats do not apply. For example, a player in a clan may threaten to kill or begin to mock players of another clan with permitted methods (Read the rules of the game carefully to determine what types of bullying are acceptable for clan warriors)
This rule deals with excessive abuse of rules 9 and / or 10 and may include: defamation (including using a similar name or faction name), humiliation, threats to the player, extortion, blackmail, excessive messaging with the player, excessive bullying of the player and, in general, an excessive violation of rule 9.
Anyone violating this rule may be punished under rule 9, or possibly a heavier penalty if the offense is excessive.
Note 1 :: There is also a special outlaw system in the game. It automatically regulates out-of-clan pvp, so reports of such a murder are not processed by the game administration.
Any offensive, cursing, insulting, racist, sexist, sexual or any other form of offensive language to any group or individual, whether race or gender, nationality or religion, will be considered as chat abuse and the player will be punished. This also extends to offensive faction names or character names. External issues, like politics, celebrities, world events, and any other inflammatory subject can be punished as well. Slightly altering an inappropriate word or phrase in order to defeat the chat filter is strictly forbidden, and is subject to punishment. As said above, do not feed the trolls! If you start to swear back or if you provoked the other player, you will also get your penalty! Just report them to the gamemasters and they take care of the abusers.
Note 1 :: There is a slight tolerance for offensive public chat: a small curse, not pointed at anybody, should not end in a mute. Please always think about using PM or faction chat to avoid problems here.
Note 2 :: This rule is more relaxed, in faction chat. Also, even if done via PM, or a letter, you may still be reported, if you offend another player; so be careful.
If you have to contact a staff member, contact only ONE PERSON at once. If you contact multiple members at once, your case will be ignored. The preferred method to contact staff is by forum PM. Some GMs, may offer other methods, such as FaceBook, but this is their individual decision.
Note 1 :: We set this rule, because some players ask multiple times to...
a) enhance their issue by spreading their issue within the team or
b) try to have at least one GM allowing their request.
This is abusive, because it multiplies the workload for the team.
Note 2 :: If the contacted GM does not respond within 3 days, you can contact another one. In these cases, multiple contacting will not lead to ignoring you.
Note 3 :: It is possible, that you may disagree with a GM's decision. If this is the case, you should carefully read the game rules, and the staff rules; if you still wish to dispute the decision, you may contact ONE admin (green name) on the matter. Please include, the name of the GM you dealt with, the incident and the decision made, the OV time/date this happened, and the rule(s) you wish to quote. Admins take such accusations seriously, and will look into them promptly.
You should note, repeated accusations may get you ignored (or even punished), if found to be unfounded. Admin decisions are final, and not open to debate.
Note 4 :: In contacting the staff, be sure the answer you are looking for is not already present in Forum Rules or Game Manual.
The referral program's aim is to attract new players.
Creating characters with a single purpose of receiving bonus levels is considered game mechanics abuse, and may be punished by removing those bonuses and deleting the 'spam' accounts. Repeat offense may be punished more severely, including but not limited to: jailing main character and/or subtracting additional levels from it.
The game "AFK" ("Far from the keyboard", that is, not paying attention to the game and its events, even if for a short time) can be offensive to the game and other players. Players accidentally parked their pets, created an automatic awakening, and then went to the AFK. This type of game is considered abuse of the game for several reasons. Therefore, playing AFK in this way, you will receive a punishment.
The game has automatic generation of special messages that block the entire game interface until the player clicks the Accept button. If a player ignores this message for some time, the server automatically disconnects the player from the game and places his nickname in a special list of AFK players.
A player who has accumulated 10 entries in this list will be punished.
- 1 violation --> imprisonment for 7 days and a loss of 15% of the character's level
- 2 violation --> imprisonment for 30 days and a loss of 25% of the character's level
- 3 violation --> permanent conclusion of the account
Game simultaneously through multiple accounts
Some players use several devices at the same time, or in other ways log into several accounts at once. This can be used for various purposes of the players, but almost always it harms other players and the game as a whole. This behavior is unacceptable. Players can still use 2 accounts at the same time in the city for a short time (5 minutes) to transfer things from one account to another or for other purposes. The use of multiple accounts for various purposes outside the territory of cities is strictly prohibited!
A city is an area with a congestion of buildings or cars, a safe area, guards, merchants and other npc
Such player behavior will be punished as follows:
- 1 violation -> imprisonment for 7 days and a loss of 15% of the current level of all player accounts that were involved in violation of the rules of the game
- 2 violation -> imprisonment for 30 days and a loss of 25% of the current level of all player accounts that were involved in violation of the rules of the game
- 3 violation -> permanent imprisonment of all player accounts that were involved in violation of the rules of the game
