I suppose you're referring to general Adams quest that requires you to gather tank parts with the help of two slaves. The quest is in VUZ town.

After completing this quest, you will no longer be given any follower. You can continue this quest line (with 15+ lvl) and get the opportunity to create robots

No, after completing the quest you can no longer get slaves. But completing it will allow you to begin a new quest given to you by the colonel. After completing the quest, you will be allowed to craft robots on a machine at the 2nd room in the lab(is not accessible until you do this quest). It requires the perk "Robotist" to craft them which requires 25 int and 25 int requires lvl 15 minimum. You also need parts(varies on the robot you want to make).

I can't make green tank in the lab, did there are something I need to complete?

The green one is premium only, by purchasing and using the companion premium item after being at least lvl 20.

The others are kinda "weak" in comparison on the "being usefull" and "lasting" part, but they have the advantage that they can help you out fighting in PvE.
There are free slaves companions you can get from a quest (until you don't complete it) for the first lvls where you can't get the green tank from the premium item, so my personal opinion/suggestion on this is to first use the slaves until you get to the level required to be able to get the green tank from the premium item.

Just in case the slaves aren't good enough for you, you should use it before that unlock lvl.
